Sitting in downtown Ft. lauderdale at a bar by the river after SUCCESSFULLY leaving the dock. That’s in caps because it was almost unsuccessful. On the way out we almost smashed into the boat in front of us (within inches) and almost took out our dingy trailing behind us. While I could see this as a bad sign I choose to see this as a good sign, because we did get out w/out incident, close case or not. (And a few dingy scrapes we can live with.)

Next we had to navigate through the canals but had a boat ahead of us ( another good luck thang) and we were able to follow them through two bridges. We found our slip and with no help from dock master we docked – I hopped off and tied up without mishap. This was a very good start! Happy new year!
