Lawson finally caught a fish on our trip from Cat Island to Little San Salvador today. We just anchored up on Half Moon Bay and are hoping this will provide adequate protection for the blow coming early tomorrow morning. It seems like it’s been blow after blow and now that our cruise kitty is getting low we’re probably going to try and keep a move on to Florida. That said, if the weather doesn’t cooperate, there’s only so much we can do.
We sent April off early Friday morning after a wonderful last day at the lux marina. We splurged for both lunch and dinner at the resort restaurant and had a nice time on the beach. After dinner there was a Junkanoo bonfire party on the beach that was fun.
We left yesterday and had a pretty bad trip to Cat Island, mainly because we were both hungover. I didn’t take any Dramamine and ended up having my first bout of seasickness. 🙁 We finally arrived at Hawk’s Nest Marina and went over to the beach restaurant for lunch. They have a whole resort complete with rooms, beach, swimming pool and hammocks. We were too tired to do much but Tristan met and played with a little boy his age who lives there – I think his family owns the resort. Probably the coolest thing was the docks had reefs right there with tropical fish swimming around and the water was crystal clear.
Mmmmmm, Lawson just cleaned the blackfin tuna and we ate a little sashimi snack. He’s going to put it on the grill later for dinner.
