Enjoy the ride

After almost having a meltdown (well actually I think I did) this morning when Lawson spilled diesel oil in our cabin while fixing the engine, this afternoon I sighed in delight as we walked one of the prettiest beaches I’ve ever seen, complete with amazing driftwood that was almost like an art gallery there was so much of it and in such fantastical formations. It’s a roller coaster all right, and you just need to sit back and enjoy, which I am trying to do.

The lows:

We had to pay the dudes who rescued our ass $300. Cha-Ching.

We’ve blown through our money so we’ve got to tighten our belt and high tail it home.

The weather continues to be a problem with big blows coming for the next few days so we will be at this marina for about a week. This marina is about as far from the lux marina as you can get.

We are out of beer – oh the horror!

The highs:

We have gin, tequila, rum and mixers. We’re going into town tomorrow to restock food and bev’s.

The anti-lux marina is home to some super friendly people. They gave us some smoked Wahoo today – guess they caught a big wahoo and smoked it last night and are sharing the love today. Mmmmmm. Also this marina is only $1/foot so it’s doable.

The engine just needed an oil change so we are good to go there.

Even though we are here for a week Eleuthera is a pretty amazing place to be “stuck” and we are renting a car tomorrow to explore. There are also amazing beaches like the one we found today – a short walk from the marina- and there are others that have pink sand. Def want to see pink sand!

Even though we are getting on each other’s nerves, we are all in love. We will survive and enjoy the ride. And maybe tomorrow we will find a store that has both the bread and turkey that Mr. Particular likes so I can make him (also known as the bottomless pit) a damn sandwich already.

Wow…I just caught up on the blog posts from the past week…thank goodness you are all safe. I’m glad the blackfin happened, and that you found some great moments together. The driftwood sounds very interesting. Every spot has something special, so, I can see why one might get lost exploring all of those islands. I enjoyed my time with you. Best wishes for a safe and speedy return.

Bring some of that driftwood home. Great souvenir plus what you don’t like you can sell!

Keep up the good work. You haven’t cut each others throats yet!
